Peter Charney (he/him) is a generative director for the stage & screen. His work seeks to ask the big questions about our existence, spark the human imagination, and honor the collective experience of sharing stories.
Peter is the co-creator and director of A Eulogy for Roman, which had its critically acclaimed world premiere at the Edinburgh Fringe, followed by a sold-out run at 59E59 Theaters (2024 Drama Desk Nomination). Among Peter’s additional theatre directing works are the original musical Bright and Brave (Dixon Place), an actor-musician reimagining of Spring Awakening (The Space at Irondale), and a collegiate-touring adaptation of Seussical (Hofstra University). Peter's latest short film, This Means Goodnight, will have its NYC premiere at Regal Union Square with Dances With Films. Peter has had the great pleasure of assisting directors such as Lisa Peterson, Oliver Butler, West Hyler, Whitney White, and Will Pomerantz.
